4 Months

Emerson Kate, you are officially 4 months old. {You have been for over a week now, but we'll ignore that.} You are growing and changing every single day. Your daddy and I are loving your sweet happy self more than ever.

You currently weigh 16lbs and 6 oz. You're 26 1/2 inches long. 97th percentile for height and 95th for weight. Dr. R. thinks you'll be a great volleyball player one day. :) You're wearing mostly 6 to 9 month clothing, mainly due to length. You can still wear some of your old 3 month onesies, but not for much longer. You got your first pair of shoes this month. I think they're pretty awesome myself. You're moving into size 3 diapers, and  you eat about 6 to 7 ounces each feeding. You've been eating rice cereal for 2 days now, but that will come in your 5th month post.

You are SO happy pretty much all the time. We are incredibly blessed with how easy you are. You still love to play on your mat. However, you've outgrown your swing and bouncy seat. You learned to roll over this month from your back to your belly. You LOVE being on your belly until you get frustrated, and then you make a crazy grunting noise. We know that means to turn you over. You're trying to get your knees under you so you can crawl. Momma's not quite ready for that yet. I need you to stay little just a tiny bit longer. You're still obsessed with your bunny and your snail. You laugh and recognize us now. It is the best thing in the world to hear your little laugh! We will act like complete morons to get you to do it. You spit up ALL.THE.TIME. Luckily, your doctor says 4 months is the peak for that and it should be slacking off.

You haven't had any huge 'firsts' this month except for your first little sickness. You had a cold that broke your momma and daddy's hearts. Your little coughs and sniffles were so sad to hear! We're glad you're feeling better now.

You also went to your first football game...sort of! We tried to take you to the football game we met at 6 years ago, but about 20 minutes in it began to pour. You absolutely love watching football with us though. If it's on the TV, your attention is captured. That makes us both so proud! :)

Oh, sweet Doodle Bug. I don't know what we did before you. You are such a huge part of our lives. It's true when people say that having a child means part of your heart is now walking around outside of you. You have completely captured our hearts. You bring such joy to your daddy and me. {And everyone that meets you!} You are precious. You are loved. You are beautiful. Every day I'm praying that God will make you more like Him. I hope that you grow up to know Him well because He has created such a sweet miracle in you. We love you to the moon and back, baby girl.
